Foster Father of The Heart - part 15 (1/2 ) - fanfiction

After three years, five months and seventeen days -- the final chapter of Foster Father. Just to forewarn you, it's quite long, thirty-five pages. I wanted to post it in its entirety, but the file was too big and I had to split it into two parts. So, finally, it's Boromir's turn over Damrod's knee. Thank you, gentle readers, for your extraordinary patience.

A story about Boromir and Faramir that could very well be subtitled: “Wherein Our Angsty Sons of Gondor Act Out and Come Smack Dab Up Against Their Devoted Mentor, Damrod.”

An Honorable Burglar - part 1 - fanfiction

I never expected to be writing a story for The Hobbit. But Le Muse was insistent, and since I've found that the only way to stay sane whilst living with a fickle non-corporeal entity is to give it everything it wants, here's a tale about what happened after that 'troll incident.'

I'd have never worked on this story without the support of Laura, who's listened to me grumble for months, and Kat, who's read along and encouraged me as I wrote. Thanks, my friends. And thanks, gentle readers, for your everlasting patience.

Middle Earth's moon

 photo Wellingtonmoon2_zpsb5c0a208.jpg

Although I rarely post anything other than my stories, this magical three minute video clip is worth the departure. The friend who sent it to me summed up my thoughts about it perfectly:

"I honestly can't say enough good things about this video - from the magnitude of the visuals, to the intimate stories playing out with the people, to the sheer humbling nature of seeing the awe-inspiring reality of this giant rock in the sky that we so often don't stop to appreciate. One thing I encourage you to do is watch this on the biggest screen you have - don't waste it on an iphone screen."

The filmmaker’s few comments are worth reading as he describes how he achieved this amazing image.

Because it was filmed in New Zealand I like to think of this as the same moon that shines down on our beloved Middle Earth.

A Word, Sir - fanfiction

Surprise! I can hardly believe this myself, but Le Muse suddenly showed up with a story for dear friend Kat's birthday. Over the years many of you have written to me with suggestions and ideas and bunnies and I've appreciated them all. This short, stand-alone story comes from one of those suggestions, although I can't remember which of you sent it. Thank you, whoever you are.

I hope to someday finish Foster Father. But I was so happy to be back in business I didn't care what Le Muse wanted to write. At least this tale features Boromir (who else would I write about for Boromir-centric Kat's birthday?) so all you Steward of Gondor-lovers won't feel deprived. I hope you enjoy this little tale, and, as ever dear readers, thanks for your outstanding patience!

Foster Father of The Heart - part 14 - fanfiction

Back to Damrod and his boys after our short visit with Frodo. This chapter is twice the size of the others, 12 pages in all. It read better that way, rather than breaking it apart. This brings to a close the Faramir part of our tale. LeMuse is still ruminating on the Boromir part, so I’ll be taking a (hopefully) brief hiatus. (During which time I can, again hopefully, find help with my Firefox browser as it's glitching in a scary way, and I'm completely in the dark about such things.) Thanks for your support thus far, gentle readers, and I hope you enjoy!

Fireworks! - fanfiction

Greetings all! Sunday, the Fourth of July, was Independence Day for we Yanks – fireworks, picnics, fireworks, parties under the Party Tree and oh yeah, fireworks! On Saturday night near midnight Le Muse executed a sneak attack, throwing a story in my lap and expecting me to write it in one day in honor of our Yank holiday. *sputter* Well, I just ain’t that fast. But I’m posting it anyway, even though I’m a bit late for the official Fourth. It’s just a small side story – Le Muse at its most playful.

Foster Father of The Heart - part 13 - fanfiction

Greetings, dearest readers! So sorry I needed more than the customary week to emerge from my Annual Business Trip PTSD. *shudder* However, Le Muse has finally crawled out of its corner and returned to Damrod and his boys. I re-read the last three chapters in order to get back up to speed, as it’s been a while since I posted the last installment, (April 28th? Impossible!) I thought it might help to include a little longer recap from the end of chapter 12. I trust you’ll bypass it if you don’t feel the need to refresh your memory. Usually I include the last few paragraphs in italics from the previous chappie to reconnect and pick up some continuity with the new chapter. However, is it unnecessary? I’m assuming that if you don’t care to read it you just jump over it, but do you find it jarring?

Enough business now – onward! Damrod’s waiting, hand poised high over his young captain’s bottom. So scoot! And thanks for your patience, gentle readers.
