Season's Greetings to anyone still around! And a Holiday Announcement!

Happy Holidays, to all my wonderful Gentle Readers!

It's been so long since I made a post it's taken me a few minutes to remember how to do it!

I've been thinking about two long stories that I've been writing off and on for several years now, and although it's never been my desire to post any story that's unfinished, I've come to the realization that these stories might never be finished. So I've wondered if it isn't better to present what's already done rather than continue keeping them hidden in a drawer, so to speak. Part of me cringes at the thought of posting unfinished work, but part of me looks at what's done and wonders if they might never be read if I don't post them now. Both stories are about 80% completed. I could post what I have, knowing that they might just hang there forever unfinished. And as much as that kinda eats at me, I think that's what I'll do, beginning with what I've referred to as my "opus."

So I guess it's up to you, gentle readers, if you choose to read unfinished work or give it a pass. Bear with me, as I'm not sure how long this will take to post, but I'll try to get it all up in a timely manner. Thus far the opus runs around 94 pages, although I need to re-read some of it and decide if it passes muster. Keep an eye out after Christmas and I'll try to start posting either between, or directly after, the holidays.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my fledglings!

Yay!! This is such a fabulous Christmas surprise! Welcome back! I, for one, can definitely handle unfinished works because that’s far better than us missing out on your wonderful works completely :) happy to see you around and excited to see more from you again soon hopefully!
Thanks for the vote of confidence, remisfriend26 and Happy New Year! I've finally been able to touch ground after the holidays have kept me flying about and can tell you that I appreciate your comment. In case you haven't seen it yet I've started posting the new story, Kindred Spirits. I hope you like!

~Larrk
Hi, Larrk!

I was actually just reading your stories earlier today! It’s so good to see you again. I hope that you are doing well.

Personally, I would love to read anything that you feel comfortable sharing with us even if it may never be completed. Some of my favorite stories are incomplete, but I still go back to them because I just love the writing so much. You are one of my favorite writers across any of the fandoms that I read stories for. I can always count on your writing to be top notch. That’s exactly why I always wind up coming back to your nest whenever I want to read a story that I know will be fantastic no matter how many times I’ve read it before. It has been years since I first found your stories, and every reread just reinforces how timeless your writing is. I feel just as much if not more satisfaction reading your stories for the Nth time as I did the very first time.

Whatever you decide to do, I will forever be a fan of all that you have given us.

Happy Holidays and best wishes for the new year!

Aw, geebaby, you've always been so loyal and so very sweet. I grin when I see your little colorful chibi guys because I know you're back with something kind and warm to say. And now, after my long absence, here you are, making me smile and feel so wonderful with your marvelous words. I'm always glad to see you, sweetling. Thanks for remaining so constant and true and generous with your praise. And thanks for being one of my firstborn fledglings.

Remember this, dearest, my stories endure because faithful gentle readers like you breathe life into them. I'm ever grateful for that.

fondly,
~Larrk

Hi Larrkin!
I internally squealed with delight when I saw your message! What a perfect Christmas present! I would LOVE to read any works of yours, finished or unfinished! Honestly, I’d read your grocery lists if I could, I love your writing so much. So PLEASE, PLEASE post them!!!
PS: LM gets all of my Christmas chocolate in return for your work! :)
Hi to you in return! My grocery list?! That totally cracked me up! Le Muse turned up her nose and ventured to mutter that my grocery lists would make danged shabby reading since I don't bring home nearly enough from the four basic food groups: pies, cakes, cookies and anything in the chocolate family. And she joyfully stands ready to receive all the Christmas cookies you'll shovel under her blanket! (Not that she'll share.)

I've started posting the story, so do go check it out and thanks for the kind comment, my fledgling!

~Larrk
It's so good to hear from you again! A story from you, even unfinished, would be an amazing Christmas present. I am so excited to read new work from you after all this time (I am starting to know the older stories by heart)!
I hope you are doing well and I wish you very happy Holidays!
Well hello there hermi! So good to see you again, too! I love seeing my wonderful fledglings who are still hanging around the Nest after my long absence. I'm happy to know that you don't mind an unfinished work. I've started posting it, so hop on over and see what you think. I'll keep posting as much and as regularly as I can. I'm doing well, thanks, and I hope you are, too, dear gentle reader. I wish you a very Happy New Year! Thanks for commenting!

PLEASE tell me there is some little Aragorn in there?!

Merry Christmas, and lots of goodies to LeMuse!!!

~Eliza

Re: YAYyayYAYyayYAYyay!!!!

Hey Eliza! I'm glad to see you and thanks for posting such a welcoming post full of enthusiasm! If I told you there was a little Aragorn in this story, well, that would be telling, wouldn't it? So I'll just have to leave you in suspense like everyone else and tell you that a slow burn is often worth the wait. ;) But I've started posting the story so do go check it out!

Le Muse is always ready for lots of goodies, and we wish you a Happy New Year!

~Larrk
I would love to read your work! I'm so happy that you are writing!

Perhaps interaction with readers or feedback will help these stories to grow complete.

I wish you well.
Thank you for sharing your stories!
Huh
Omg Huh! You've been with me for forever and here you are! So good to see you again! Thanks for still being around. I've started posting the story if you want to check it out. Maybe you're right and a little interaction with readers will light a fire under Le Muse. You never know.

I wish you well, too, sweets! Thanks again for the loyalty, and Happy New Year!

YAY!

Potentially unfinished larrk vs. no larrk at all...is that even a choice? So excited that you’re going to be posting again! EEEEEEEP! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I eagerly await your ‘opus’! Sending you and Le Muse my signature peach and raspberry roulade as a gift to express my sheer gratitude :-)

Re: YAY!

So. That's a "yes" then. :D

I had a insanely great, fun and busy Christmas, thanks, and I'm just now touching ground long enough to reply to your wonderful comments and start posting the story. Le Muse's tongue is hanging out in a most unbecoming manner over your signature peach and raspberry roulade. I admit I'm willing to fight her off for at least a taste of it. I've seen enough baking shows to know what I'm missing out on and I'm feeling the pain. wretched muse.

Thanks for the kind comment! Do pop over and check out the story!

RE: Re: YAY!

I didn’t think I could possibly love you any more than I already do, but you just casually dropped the word ‘unbecoming’ in your reply. Absolute. Unadulterated. Linguistic. Class. YES GIRL!

Context, my mother teasingly accuses me of acting in an ‘unbecoming’ manner on a regular basis, to the extent that I am considering getting a T-shirt declaring me ‘unbecoming and proud of it’! Hence I am rather attached to the word. And LM, I do empathise. But let poor Larrk have some of that roulade!

~Jen
AHHHH Larrrkkkk!! i am so so excited to read your stories again, regardless of the fact that they’re unfinished! you have no idea how happy i am :) no matter what, we’ll still support you in the end! praying that you’ll post themmm!!

xx
Well I'm excited that you're excited, seekingklaine! I guess I'm surprised, too, that my fledglings don't mind an unfinished story. But I'm happy to oblige. Thanks for your loyalty and your willingness to hang in there with me no matter what. That means so much to me. I've started posting the story, so do go check it out! And thanks again for the kind comment, gentle reader!
